Between the 7th and the 11th of October 2024 we have been participating in the second international meeting of partnering organisations in Ischitella, Italy, within the Erasmus+ project realisation, number: 2023 -2-BG01-KA210-SCH-000175420, titled: ‘HAPPY CHILDREN – FUTURE STEAM INNOVATORS AND EXLORERS’.
We have been hosted by our Italian partner Istituto Omnicomprensivo Giannone Ischitella.
The main aims of the meeting was the exchange of good practicies and experiences as well as knowledge but what’s more, being together, making new unforgetable lifetime friendships and have a chance to see the practical side of our everyday work as teachers, pedagogists and specialsists.
To make it happen our Italian host prepared various educational activities and games in ‘Pietro Giannone’ Ischitella Kindergarten as well as in ‘Pietro Giannone’ Foce Varano Kindergarten and took care of our full involvement in every single task. It was absolutely priceless! Among many activities planned for the visit we observe and participated in Steam Project Sessions: ‘The Colours of Autumn’, ‘ The Rainbow Bridge’, ‘Rain in a Jar’, ‘ Swaying between Sounds and Silences’, ‘In Small Steps During The Harvest’ and ‘ Orienteering activities – children aged 5 with the teachers’. All these activities within STEAM are to teach children basics of maths, science, geography but also develop their motor and comprehensive skills. To show the consistancy of STEAM activities from the early age we also had an opportunity to see how older students in Primary School Foce Varano, use mathematical and georaphical skills during the Ozobots Bees workshops. Both the students and the teachers enjoyed all of these educational treats immensly!
